These are the questions landowners around Toccoa ask us most. They cover
forestry mulching, pastures, building lots, kudzu and how pricing works.
If yours is not here, call or text and we will answer it.
Price follows the ground: how thick the growth is, the size of the saplings, the slope and the way in. Acreage matters too, and so does how you want the land left. We look at the property first, then give you a free estimate with the price in writing. You decide from there.
What area do you serve?
We are based in Toccoa, in Stephens County, and work about 60 miles around it across Northeast Georgia. That covers towns such as Cornelia, Clarkesville, Clayton, Lavonia, Hartwell, Gainesville, Jefferson and Dahlonega. See the towns we serve for the full list.
What does forestry mulching leave behind?
A layer of shredded wood and brush stays on the soil where the growth stood. It covers the bare ground and breaks down over time. There are no burn piles, and nothing gets hauled off the property.
Do you remove big trees or grind stumps?
Those go to other trades. A tree service takes down large mature trees, and a stump grinding company grinds stumps. Our mini excavator can pull small stumps and roots. If you want the big trees kept and the brush under them gone, that is underbrushing.
Can you clear a pasture or field that brush has taken over?
Yes. Bush hogging with a heavy brush cutter on our track loader cuts the growth off overgrown fields and pastures. Where saplings have moved in, the forestry mulcher takes over. Farm customers have us back season after season to keep the fields open.
Can you clear a lot before we build a house?
Yes. Site preparation clears the brush and small trees off the house site and the driveway path. Mature trees stay where you want them, so you and your builder can see the ground. We can do light grading with the track loader when you ask.
Can you clear steep slopes and ditch banks?
Yes. Our mini excavator carries a forestry mulcher head and reaches steep banks and ditch lines the track loader cannot. The loader works the open ground, and the excavator takes the steep edges. That reach also helps along roadsides and fence lines.
What can you do about kudzu?
We mulch kudzu down to the ground, along with the privet and brush under it. That opens the ground back up and makes the regrowth easier to keep after. Kudzu comes back, so it takes repeated cutting to keep it beaten back. We do not spray herbicide, so getting rid of it for good takes a treatment plan from another company.
Who do you clear land for?
We clear land for landowners, realtors, business owners, farmers, hunters and people getting ready to build. Land going on the market gets opened up so buyers can see it. Hunting land gets food plots and trails cut through the brush.
